A Research Lab Specialist position in the Department of Surgery at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is available for highly motivated individuals interested in the study of Wilms tumor, the most common kidney cancer in children. This position will involve significant assistance in helping the primary investigator to establish a laboratory focused on high-risk Wilms tumor that is refractory to current treatment approaches. A Research Lab Specialist utilizes unique, advanced skills to assist principal investigators in achieving the laboratory's research goals.
A Research Lab Specialist:
• Learns and develops procedures and participates in the publication of research results.
• Conducts experiments and assigned clinical testing without direct supervision. Manages various laboratory operations, trains laboratory personnel, and pursues advanced knowledge of a specific area of research.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
Individuals with prior experience in stem cell culture, organoid development, or three-dimensional, non-adherent cultures of human tumor cells are strongly preferred.
