This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Technologist to join the Pathology Biomarker Development laboratory, in the Department of Pathology. This lab studies molecular biomarkers of diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic significance for diseases affecting St. Jude patients. We evaluate the feasibility and clinical utility of novel assays, to determine whether they may be integrated into clinical diagnostic practice. Currently, our lab is working on utilizing Illumina methylation arrays as a diagnostic tool, exploring the utility of cell free DNA to monitor response to therapy, and investigating the use of protein microarrays to identify disease biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
We are recruiting a Senior Research Technologist to establish and support projects within the lab, while maintaining efficient laboratory operations. The successful applicant will have strong organizational skills, and demonstrated proficiency in molecular biology techniques. Previous experience with research techniques including Next Generation Sequencing, methylation profiling and protein analysis (e.g. Western Blotting, SPR, ELISA) are preferred.
